Week 37

Today was our 37 week appointment.  Again, Sydney is stubborn!!  She hasn’t flipped so she’s still in breech position and I’ve not progressed any……soooooooooo……we have selected 8/12/11 to be her birthday unless she decides between now and then to surprise us and come!  I’m waiting for the doctor’s office to call me to go over the details of the c-section so I don’t have any other information other than the date we requested.  Annnnndddd you know why we picked that date – well Steve was born on the 12th of course!  He wanted her to have his date of birth if she could so it looks like she will as long as the doctor is available.  Our next appointment is Monday, August 1.

Everything else is going good other than my swelling feet every day…I have cankles…and they are sexy J

Over the weekend we went to Babies R Us and bought the rest of the items we wanted that were on the registry that we didn’t get as a gift so I believe we are all set.  Steve is testing out a webcam to use as a baby monitor before we buy an actual monitor set.  We also put some decorations on the walls of her room.  Here are some pictures:

Week 36

Today was our 36 week appointment and sonogram.  Unfortunately, Sydney is stubborn like her parents (yes, both of them) and did not want to pose for the camera so we didn’t even get a picture to bring home L.  She’s measuring around 6 lbs 11 oz (give or take).  They didn’t give us an estimated height though – probably because she’s so squished in there…LOL.  She is facing my spine so her back is to my belly.  She’s also currently in the breech position.  The doctor said that they will have to monitor her position closely at my appointments which are now scheduled once a week.  He didn’t seem too concerned about her positioning but did say that if she doesn’t turn we will have to have a c-section.  Other than that everything seems to be on target.  I’ve not started to progress any so we’ll see what next week’s appointment brings!

Over the weekend I put away alllllll of the stuff from the baby shower (finally) and put away all of her clothes.  Steve helped get the pack-n-play all together and set up.  I got my hospital bag packed with the exception of what I’m going to wear home but I don’t have that many maternity clothes so I’ll just stuff something that’s clean in the bag when it’s time to go.  We picked up a few things that we didn’t get at the shower (like a mattress pad – you know, the boring stuff  J) so all and all I think we are ready.  We would like to get a monitor set but are still researching the best option for that purchase.  We need to put a few things up on the walls of her room and that should be just about totally finished then – hopefully we’ll do that this weekend.

Week 35

5 weeks left and only 1 week until the sonogram!  Over the past week we’ve decided on her name and received lots and lots of stuff!  Mom and a few of my good friends held a baby shower for Sydney J on Sunday, July 10th.  My Dad and step-mom came up from SC as a surprise!  We received sooooooo many clothes I think I’m going to have to actually dress her (not keep her in a onesie) every day just to make sure she has a chance to wear everything!  We also received the pack-n-play we wanted along with the diaper bag, changing pad, bottles, and various other baby necessities.  Two really special gifts were a blanket my mom crocheted and a blanket my Aunt quilted (she quilted a turtle on it J).  Sydney’s great grandmother sent her first piece of jewelry too…a small gold ring.  It’s sooo cute!  I’m waiting on Virginia to get me the pictures from the shower and I’ll share some of those when I get them.

Week 34

Today was our 34 week appointment.  Everything looks good!  The doctor said I’ve had some good weight gain over the past 3 weeks and my blood pressure still looks good.  She also scheduled us for an ultrasound in 2 weeks – just to see how big she is and to make sure she’s in the right position.  Kinda funny since at the last appointment I asked the other doctor about another ultrasound and he said there wouldn’t be one unless there were issues…..oh well…I’m excited to get another one just to see her J

I can say that the swelling in my feet, well, isn’t so swell….LOL…but it does go down once I’ve had my feet up or if I’m in the AC for a while.  Just have to deal with it a few more weeks!  Oh and floating in the pool helps too.

Since we were on vacation last week, no one at work has seen me in over a week and today they all commented on how much lower my belly looks…Steve even said the same thing.  I don’t know about lower but I know it seems bigger and heavier…LOL

Here are the curtain pictures too….
