3 + some....

It’s been a while since I posted….it seems like every time I was going to post about something I decided to wait until after the next event so I could tell you about that and it just seems like I never got back to posting!

We had Sydney’s 3 year pictures done down at Fairview since she loves the water.  Here are a few of those:

Sydney’s birthday party this year was Mickey and Minnie Mouse themed.  She had life size Mickey and Minnie balloons along with a Minnie cake.  She loved all of her gifts and enjoyed everyone being around for her party.  We played in the sprinkler and on the slip in slide too.

We took our annual family OBX trip a couple of weeks after her birthday.  It seems like we go to OBX often, and we do, but we decided that every year around her birthday we will always plan to go there.  That way it will be a family tradition.  We also went back in September too J and Granny came down for a few days!

At the beginning of October Sydney finally decided she was done with diapers….YAY!  We’ve been diaper free since!!

The pumpkin patch was an adventure this year.  She loved all of the rides (even rode on a horse) except when it came time to pick pumpkins Sydney told us that every pumpkin was too “heavier” and she would just drop the pumpkin…hahahah.  We got her a few small ones.  She also went to the pumpkin patch with one of her babysitters.

Sydney dressed up as Skye from PAW Patrol this year.  She loves that cartoon and all of the pups.  We went trick or treating around Fairview and she was tired after about 15 houses!  She got a lot of candy and was really excited when she got to help hand out candy at Granny’s house.

We took a ride to the mountains a week or so ago.  Sydney wanted to see snow but instead we saw pretty leaves and a few deer.  She’s obsessed with snow and can’t wait until she can play in it!

Christmas is fast approaching……here are some things that she likes if you need/want any ideas:

She likes to play dress up (dresses, shoes, jewelry)

Barbie (she only has one Barbie currently)

Barbie accessories

Roller skates (the grow with me kind)

Helmet/pads for bike/roller skates

Wooden Thomas the Train tracks

Nerf guns/ammo

Jump rope

Anything PAW Patrol (we have already bought her the Look Out Tower and On-A-Roll Marshall for Christmas)

Loving Family Doll House accessories (she has these sets:  Family Room, Parents Bedroom, Convertible, Dining Room, and Laundry Room)

Hooded Bath Towels

Clothes – size 4T

Shoes – size 7

DVDs (any Disney movie)

Time is flying!!  We’ve hit the “trying twos” heavy….LOL…she’s not terrible but boy can she be persistent and independent!!

Easter came and went as did the Easter Bunny.  We dyed eggs and the bunny left gifts!

Sydney rode on the motorcycle (to the end of the road) with her Daddy and absolutely loved it (yes, she is wearing my helmet and it fits her)!!!

We went to Nags Head as a family for a long weekend.  Sydney is such a water baby!!

Other than normal day to day stuff, this is what I did over this past weekend:

2 years + 8 months

Yup, it’s been two months since I last posted.  I figure since we’re into the full on toddler stage, updates every couple of months would be good enuff not to overload everyone!

There’s really not been a whole lot of activity other than the day to day stuff these past couple of months.  The weather over the past couple of months has been crazy but I think we are finally really into spring.  It was 80 today!

Sydney finished up gymnastics.  She really really liked going but I think we are going to give organized activities a break for the spring and maybe summer and get back into them in the fall.  There will be plenty to do now that the weather has become warmer.

Here are some pictures of the last couple of months:

Visiting the "teeth doctor" today; She was so good and told us it was fun!

2 years + 6 months

This past month has been crazy with weather!  We experienced all 4 seasons in the span of a week recently!  We’ve been able to play at the park without jackets on a Sunday then by Wednesday we were playing in the snow!

Sydney has been to gymnastics a couple of times this past month (it’s been cancelled for snow and illness a couple of times).  She LOVES it!  It’s about 50 minutes of non-stop activity so she really enjoys being able to see other kids and do the activities.

The house was stuck with the stomach bug recently.  That was soooooo fun! L  Everyone is better but it was rough for a couple of days.

We received word that Sydney was accepted to preschool starting in September.  She’ll be going to a local preschool two days a week.  She already talks about the school bus and her “ackpack” (backpack) so I think she is really going to enjoy going to school when it’s starts.

Here are a few pictures of our fun this month!

We love Sweet Frog!
Snow fun!

Snow one day, park the next!

Snow that didn't last long so Daddy made her a pile to play in on the deck

We got to play in about 10" of snow

Making snowcream!

Late again…I know, I know…

Christmas was a marathon!  It took Sydney over 3 hours to open her presents and it wasn’t because she had sooooo many!  She would open one then want to open that package and play with the toy/game/coloring book before she would even be interested in the other gifts.  Maybe next year she’ll get into the spirit and rip into everything!  She did enjoy her kitchen and guitar/microphone set that Santa left her!

We’ve had some snow here.  There was enuff to play in a little bit.  Sydney really liked being outside and playing in it.  They are calling for around 5 inches or more today too!

Sydney started gymnastics on Jan. 11.  Steve and I were out of town for our birthdays so Granny took her to her first lesson.  Granny said Sydney loved it.  She wasn’t able to get any pictures because it was hands on for both the kids and adults.

For Steve’s birthday, Sydney sang him a little song:

That’s all for now!  Until February….and I’m sure that post will come after Valentine’s Day J

2 years + 4 months

Gosh, you think I’d know I’m supposed to post something every month…I mean it is only once a month!  Sorry for the lateness!  Didn’t realize I hadn’t posted until I looked at the Blog myself, oops!

Looks like I left off at Halloween…..so then came Thanksgiving.  We had dinner at my mom’s and Sydney helped me bake cookies to take with us.  She LOVES helping in the kitchen:

We visited Santa this year.  Sydney was not a fan of him.  She didn’t want to sit near him or look at him.  She did tell him she wanted a dog (that is because they were giving stuffed dogs as gifts after the children were done with Santa)….LOL…

We decorated our trees…yes, treeS.  I got Sydney her own tree she could decorate and have by her chair in the living room.  She would only help put two ornaments on the family tree this year.  The top left ornament is her fist hand-made one…..

She’s received a few presents to open before Christmas this year and she is soooooo excited about them! Christmas morning is going to be fun!

Isn’t she precious in this picture!  She loved looking at and playing with the lights.

We also baked some sugar cookies together…or cookie “shapes” as she calls them….

Other than getting ready for Christmas we’ve just been doing the normal things.  This past weekend was the last weekend of soccer.  I think we are going to try out gymnastics in January; time for a little change to see how she likes a different sport.

I’m sure I’ll have more to share about Christmas!  Until then Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone!

2 years + 3 months

I’m a few days late posting this month’s update….ooppssss!

There was a BIG move in October!  We transitioned Sydney to a big girl bed!  She was so surprised when she saw her room.  We also moved all of her toys into the spare room so she has her own playroom (and mommy and daddy have their living room back!)

We visited the pumpkin patch in October too.  Sydney enjoyed riding the hay wagon and looking at all the pumpkins!

For Halloween Sydney was a pirate.  We only visited about 10 houses trick or treating but she enjoyed being out and walking around – especially since Granny was able to go with her.

Sydney is still in Lil Kickers.  She talks about going to soccer all week but when we get there she isn’t so sure about it…LOL.  She participates for most of the class but she also just likes to sit down and watch what’s going on.  This is how she likes to prepare to go to soccer:
